Chambersburg Early Learning Center

In 2020 we partnered with the Chambersburg Area School District, Home Again Concepts and Lehman’s Construction to develop the first phase of a Chambersburg Early Learning Center at Stanley Avenue. The building, a former child care center built by Stanley Tools, is being completely remodeled for 2020 safety, technology and educational needs while retaining its mid-century design. It includes classrooms for preschool-aged children, infants and toddlers, and space for The Family Center, currently in development. Home Again Concepts and Lehman’s are doing this renovation right. They updated the HVAC, making sure each space is adequately heated and cooled. New blown-in insulation will help keep our utility bills low. Beautiful new windows bring in the sunshine we all need. The solid concrete walls were renewed with paint and accented with all new ceilings, lighting and flooring. Each classroom had a child sized bathroom. The doorways to the bathrooms were widened, and new doors and touchless faucets were added. All new cabinetry, sinks and faucets were specially designed for our young children’s use.

Now in 2021, we are developing the second phase – a much bigger undertaking than the first phase. We want to share it with you and invite you to become a part of completing the facility for our children and their families for years to come. The second phase contains so much more than classrooms, and this is where we really could use some help. There is space for a commercial kitchen, staff lounge, and music and art rooms for “special” activities.

Help us make The Early Learning Center a place our children, families, staff, and communities can learn and grow.
