Itinerant Teacher

The Itinerant Teacher works collaboratively with the classroom staff in an Early Childhood environment. Responsible for assisting the lead teacher with the classroom child interactions to implement a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, and physical development of each child enrolled in the group in accordance with early childhood program standards.

This is a full time non-exempt, part year position with competitive salary.

Daily location may vary.

Minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • CDA(Childhood Development Associate certification) or AA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field preferred.
  • 1 year experience
Assistant Teacher (Full-time and Part-time available)

This position works collaboratively with the classroom staff in an Early Childhood environment. Responsible for assisting the lead teacher with the classroom child interactions to implement a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, and physical development of each child enrolled in the group in accordance with early childhood program standards.

Part-time, non-exempt, 5 hours a day (25 hours per week)

Full-time, non-exempt, 8 hours a day (40 hours per week)

10-month position with a competitive salary.

Minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • High School Diploma with a CDA(Childhood Development Associate certification); AA degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Pre-K Counts Lead Teacher

A Pre-K Counts Teacher is preschool-4th grade certified. He or she works with one of five Franklin County school districts, teaching up to 20 pre-school aged children through a developmentally appropriate curriculum, screening and assessment system.

This is a full time exempt, 10 month position with competitive salary.

Positions available in Waynesboro and Greencastle areas.

Minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • A Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field (ECE credits completed) and a current PA Teaching Certification in PK-4 or N-3
  • 1 year experience working with preschool age children.
Early Head Start Home Visitor

The Home Visitor position builds relationships with families through in-home educational services. Encourages families as their child’s first and forever teacher. Assists in creating learning experiences for children to build school readiness skills based on screening and assessment data. Utilizes home visiting curriculum to guide work with families.

Minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Infant/Toddler Home Visiting (CDA) or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, and Family Studies or closely related field
  • Knowledge of child and/or human development.

 

Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the overall daily operation of all First Start accounts payable portion of the Finance Department as well as adherence to First Start Fiscal Policies and Procedures. The Accounting Assistant works with the Accounting Supervisor and Finance Director to establish clear goals and direction for meeting and exceeding high-quality programmatic and administrative standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • The daily operation of the accounts payable department.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments are recorded and files are up to date.
  • Conduct data entry and systems processes in financial information systems, vendor service databases, and websites.
  • Complete assigned activities to assist or oversee various Finance projects and duties, as needed.
  • Be a representative of First Start Partnerships for Children and Families’ vision and mission while working in the communities.
  • Be a representative of NAEYC’s code of ethical conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience performing clerical and administrative office duties in an office environment for at least two years.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills are needed.
  • Internet usage skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic data entry; Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and internet usage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.

Pay: $13.47 – $15.00 per hour

Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for greeting visitors and delivering exceptional customer service assistance. This entails answering calls and emails and fielding them accordingly, addressing visitor questions and needs, and providing an overall welcoming environment. This position will also be responsible for assisting the Communications Director with information output, social media/website and advertising efforts.

Minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Associates degree in Business or related field with 2 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstration of creatively, out-of-the-box thinking and resourcefulness Detail-oriented with strong Internet usage skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. ·
  • Excellent customer service skills. ·
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the use of popular social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, lnstagram, and others.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the use of Google Analytics. ·
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team. ·
  • Working knowledge of Web content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
